Dish Assembling & Satellite Aiming

Most people are not sure where they can put the dish to get a strong satellite signal.
A movable stand to support the dish is exactly what should be used in order for you
to try many spots and choose the best one.

Refer to the steps below:

Step 1

Start out by gethering two pieces of 2 x 4 inch wood.
The picture shows one in 22 inches and the other 16 inches,
but longer is better. Use two nails or screws to connect them.
Then, firmly put the base on with 4 screws.

Step 2

Mount the metal pole onto the base.
Attach the two supporting bars onto the
22 inch piece of wood with two screws.

Step 3

Firmly tight the 2 screws to place the "V" shaped LNBF arm onto the dish mount.
Slide the dish mount onto the pole, then losely fasten the 2 long screws.
Place the LNBF into it's holder then attach them to the LNBF arm.

Step 4

Put the dish onto the dish mount with the four screws provided and also
connect the cable to the LNBF.

=== NOTE ===
The standard .6db Ku band LNBF has tilt angles for different locations.
Please slightly rotate your LNBF. The following 3 pictures illustrate
that United States customers are aiming to Telstar-5 satellite at 97°W.

Western
States

cable points
  to
  6 o'clock
Central
States

cable points
  to
  4:30
Eastern
States

cable points
  to
  3 o'clock

Other type of LNB has 35° difference like below:

Step 5

Make sure that the ledge is center with the hole.
Tighten the two #4 screws just so you can still barely
move the dish vertically as well as horizontally.

Step 6

Aiming the Satellite

E-mail me to confirm the azimuth and elevation coordinates for you to aim the dish to the
satellite providing the programs you intent to watch. Locate a spot that may have a good
direction to find the satellite according to the azimuth coordinate.

Accuracy is the key to succeed, so make sure every part is firmly attatched especially for the
 base supporting.

First, make the pole strictly vertical. Don't go further without this most important step!

Watch the dial and adjust the up angle according to the elevation coordinate by tighting the #9
 long screw agaist the dish.

If you are aiming to Telstar-5 satellite, you don't have to change the setting on your receiver,
otherwise please read user's mamnual to set up your receiver for the satellite you chose.

Put the receiver and a portable TV beside the dish. Hook up your TV to receiver, connect the
receiver to LNBF with the cable. Power on the TV and the receiver.

Press i (info) the third button from lower right on the remote. TV displays 2 bars for signal
quality and signal strength. Get the best signal quality by adjusting the dish horizontally
according to the azimuth coordinate. A compass may be helpful to determine the direction.

Re-adjusting the up angle may get little better signal. Tight the two #4 screws. All set!
